Vinit Parida from CiiR along with other young Swedish entrepreneurship and innovation management researchers were invited for the 150th ESTRAD seminar. During this landmark seminar, Vinit presented empirical results from a recent study on effects of adopting entrepreneurial strategy or orientation by high tech-Swedish small firms.
The results indicate that being highly entrepreneurially oriented can lead to negative effects on Swedish small firm performance due to lack of resources. However, through developing information and communication technology capability and network capability, small firms can overcome their resource limitations as they increase internal resource efficiency and gain access to external resources. This enables them to operate at high level of entrepreneurial orientation and continue to gain performance. Thus, small firm managers are recommended to balance entrepreneurial orientation with ICT capability, network capability, and firm size to enhance performance.
